Francis Lankin to receive PR award

Francis Lankin, Toronto’s United Way CEO, is being recognized for her advocacy for the less fortunate with an award from the Canadian Public Relations Society (Toronto).

She’ll receive the CEO Award of Excellence in Public Relations at a luncheon gala on January 29th at the Royal York Hotel.

I expect her acceptance speech will provide insights on how to give a voice to people who don’t have one, and how to motivate and engage publics in the battle against poverty.

I should note that I’m a past president of the Toronto society and sit on the selection committee for this award.

But personally, I will say that I’m a fan of Lankin’s work. She is an shining example of a strong community communicator. Someone who has made Toronto stronger.

For more information about the gala and how to get tickets, visit the CPRS (Toronto) website.

I’ll report back on her speech after the luncheon.
