Launched a social media campaign in Toronto you are proud of?

Why not submit your social media plan for an ACE Award from the Canadian Public Relations Society (Toronto)?

The deadline is next Friday (Feb 1) for the executive summary. Visit the CPRS (Toronto) website for more details.

Social media projects would seem to fit perfectly into the Best Use of Communication Tools category. The purpose of this award is to recognize effective and creative use of specific communication tools to execute or support a public relations campaign.

Or perhaps you’ve worked on another public relations campaign (that may or may not have included social media) better suited to the other categories:

  • Brand Development Campaign of the Year
  • New Product or Service Launch Campaign of the Year
  • Employee Communications Campaign of the Year
  • Community Relations Campaign of the Year
  • Public Affairs / Government Campaign of the Year
  • Investor/Financial Relations Campaign of the Year
  • Crisis or Issues Management Campaign of the Year
  • Best Use of Media Relations
  • Best Use of Special Events

I’ll admit I’ve never submitted myself. But last year when I served as the society’s president, I met more than a dozen winners at the gala. Many felt that their ACE award would help highlight the strategic value of PR to their clients and/or bosses.

No time again this year for my submission. But I’ve got my eye on a few projects that I’m hoping will be award worthy for 2009.
